We, the undersigned, hereby request that each member of the School Committee recuse him/herself from this selection process, and that an independent committee be formed to oversee the hiring of NKSD’s future Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent.
Members of the North Kingstown School Committee have lost the confidence of the community considering the results of their own investigation and recent civil lawsuit filed against them stemming from the naked fat testing abuse and because of their failure to protect the welfare and safety of students entrusted to their care.
The primary role of members of the School Committee is that they are “statutorily responsible for oversight of the North Kingstown School Department”, but their dereliction of duty and refusal to properly act time and again from the moment they were made aware of credible evidence of child abuse has led us to the conclusion that we cannot trust them to choose our next Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent.
