In my opinion, surveillance in hallways and other common spaces in our schools is an ABSOLUTE MUST. This security can help emergency responders, deter crime, bullying, and inappropriate behavior (from students, teachers, and visitors), help solve crimes and resolve legal issues, and can help law enforcement stop an active situation in a faster/safer manner. Why are we not putting the safety of our children and school staff first?!?

More security is what we need. Cameras are a start, but we can certainly do more as well.

Frankly, I'm surprised it hasn't been done yet, though I recognize the cost. Hopefully with the grant, that will change.
