It's a shame that the government sees all residents in Northern regions as given suspects rather than innocent civilians, even the youth born with the borders. Such profiling only promotes hostility and creates a sense of inferiority for those who have to undertake such practices. We are all equal, no more can Kenyans allow mistreatment to continue.

Being ignored by the government raises questions on what message they are trying to send. If they truly want to see Kenya prosper, all of us must succeed and enjoy the fruit, not a select few. We are all equal and it's time the government saw that.

Agreed, all Kenyans are equal regardless of their position on the map. It is truly time for an open discussion to be had for plans that are effective to be implemented. Silence is our biggest issue, it allows us to ignore pressing matters and the plight of fellow Kenyans. The government must see Northern regions as need for concern and action, instability affects us all.

We as citizens expect to see our leaders whom we voted for work to deliver to us!They are not chosen to satisfy their almost insatiable greed!Work and make the life of the local mwananchi better.We will keep telling this to our leaders to ensure they fulfill on their mandate!

We should treat the people of NE similar to the ways the government treats people in other parts of the country, we should sit down with them have a dialogue over the matters affecting the nation and bring about a solution, a sullen silence will bring only bloodshed! I urge the government to take the matters in NE as their own.

It is completely disgusting that such mistreatment is so common it's expected by Northern communities. We must seek transparency in the police force as well as assuring the government treat and provide for Northern communities as they do with others. Please continue to spread the petition and message.

The truth in this comment is overwhelming. Very few know this fact and those that do don't know how to tackle such a huge issue. Taking a united stand at this obscene discrimination will help incite change. Please continue to discuss with those you meet, awareness is key.

I hope so too but we can no longer be willing to wait, pressuring the government to act now is the only way. We have to learn to see each other as equal, some have been ingrained with a superiority complex which simply harms this country and its residents.

Thank you, it may be small beginnings but all change begins somewhere. We are too used to see the same families residing in government as if they're royalty. All Kenyans can stand for the role of leadership and to make change we must be more involved in politics and law. Don't be afraid, we must elect those who represent the ordinary Kenyans, not the rich elite.
