Give Felons a Chance!

If your a convicted felon then you know what it means to be discriminated on. After you do your time and pay your fines you deserve a second chance to get good job to be able to take care of your family. I was convicted of a felony in 1999 and have not been in trouble since then. I have went back to school and got my Office Administration certificate, Associate's degree and Bachelors degree and I thought that would be good enough, but it's not. The laws need to be changed if they want people to be a productive member of society, then give us a chance. We just want to be able to get a good job and take care of our family. I believe that's why so many people go back to the old lifestyle of selling drugs because they are not given a chance, everytime they go apply for a job they are repeatedly turned away after the ultimate question is asked "How you ever been convicted of a felony". Alot of states already have the law that an employer can't go back more than 7 years on a background check and this law needs to be implemented in all the states.
