Secondary School Option - Weipa

A private secondary college for the Weipa Community would encourage more families to live in the Community! What a fantastic initiative

I support having a St. Joseph's High School. At least it gives families options for education without boarding school.

I am new to Weipa (from Brisbane) and have enrolled my 2 children at St Joseph's as they were both attending a catholic primary school in Brisbane. My daughter is in Year 4 and I worry about where I will send her to High School. I would love for her to continue her education at a Catholic school, but the only options would be to move or have her boarding. A P-10 Catholic School in Weipa would be amazing. It would allow her to continue her catholic schooling until she is of an age that she could choose what she would like to do. My son is in Year 2 and again, being able to keep my children together at the one school would be a huge benefit.

I support the St Joseph's Weipa option to extend the school to year 10 so families of Weipa & surrounding areas can have a choice of high school options locally.

Weipa & the surrounding areas need choice as to were they send there children to school locally. We need a safe, age / stage appropriate environment for our children to grow, develop & learn. We need a new high school in Weipa !!
