Dear Neighbours,
As our children grow older, the need to build a high-school in our area is imminent.
At the moment, our children are going to Stephen Lewis in THW. Our area was originally designated to go to Alexander Mackenzie ( and might be changed into that school at any time the YRSB sees fit).
We recently learned from York Region School Board that the high-school for our area IS NOT in the planned budget for the next 4-5 years.
As we know from past experience, planning and budgeting is no assurance to getting prompt results, so if it is not even considered now, we can expect for it to be built in delay for our children.
If you feel that building a high-school needs to be a priority and should be on the budget for the near future, please sign this petition.

I have been reading through the notes you left about the long travel times our children face and it feels like many of us are carrying the exact same worries. This was meant to be a quiet concern for a few neighbors but the way you have stepped up has turned it into something much bigger than I ever imagined.

I am honestly overwhelmed by the momentum this has gained lately and I never imagined so many neighbors would feel this same urgency. This progress belongs entirely to you because I am just the person who hit start on the page.

Enough with the waiting lists and the budget excuses. Fix this now.
If they keep building houses they better build the schools to go with them. Simple math.
Ridiculous that we have to wait 5 more years. The population here is exploding. Get it done.
4-5 years is way to long. This should have been planned before all these subdivisions went up.
PLEASE we really need a school here. My son is exhausted by the time he gets home from the bus ride.

The commute to Stephen Lewis is way too long for kids in this area. We need something closer to home.
