Fix the ridiculous proposed 3:50pm dismissal!

The start times for these events need to be pushed back. My student can not afford to miss classes.

I won't be able to send my child out of school early every week. He will be able to train, but might not compete

We can't be missing this much school every single week.

As a teacher, I will not be able to leave two or more hours early from school every Thursday to see my hurdlers and sprinters run their races. Please consider pushing the start of the meet time to a later time.

Please change the start times so students don't miss class.

Darkness will be at 7pm starting Sunday (DST) and will be racing to 10 pm over the next few months. Track events should, of course, end before darkness, which is the only consideration I can see that would warrant an "early out" of school for the start of a meet. Meet times should take advantage of the later daylight and start progressively lighter as daylight allows.

The start times for these events need to be pushed back. My student can not afford to miss math and science.

Since school starts about 1 hour later this year from last year, than the track meets should be delayed the same time. I think this would solve the problem.

Please revisit the scheduling of Track and Field meets and move these to start after school and disclose all of the issues associated with such a decision for the 2016-17 school year.

SPS athletic schedules should not compete with the school day.

A 2:45 start time for track meets do not make good sense for several reasons. The first and most important being missed educational time for our kids. Meet times should be moved to a time that makes sense for students.

Please find a way to have students enjoy after school sports like track without missing class time.

Traditionally track and field meets and other after-school extracurricular events start after the end of the school day, providing a transportation interval for kids to change, board buses, and travel to meet locations. By starting meets at 2:45, a full 30 minutes before the end of the academic school day, participants are required to miss nearly 3 hours of class (change, assembly, transport, warm-up). With daylight savings time starting on March 12, recent assurances that bus scarcity and scheduling issues have been resolved, and the reality of the undue burden this policy places on college bound students, teachers, administrators, and athletic directors, I respectfully request that meet start times be revised to 3:30PM at the earliest.

This needs to be solved SPS. Please remember that school attendance is your priority. Don't make scheduling decisions based on bus availability that undermines this priority.

Please don't force our athletes to choose between their sport and school. School will and should always be first so there will b many missed meets

I agree to move the start time to later in the school day. (or/or possibly schedule some meets on weekends)

This needs to be addressed now as well, for fall 2017 sports including girls' soccer, where there are multiple games per week.
