Seating of Unizulu Student Body Meeting to discuss and resolve upon the Enforcement, Amendment and Addition to the SRC Constitution and other matters.

The EFFYC Unizulu Branch would like to lobby the entire Student Body of the University of Zululand to support the seating of a student body meeting to discuss amongst other things the Enforcement, Amendment and Addition of the following to the Unizulu SRC Constitution:
a) SRC Elections to be held as stipulated in the SRC Constitution in the Second Semester, in the third term between the months of August and September.
b) The removal of the First In, First Out system of voting and replacing it with a Proportional System of Voting to allow for greater representation of different opposing views and organisations within the Student Representatives Council.
c) The Introduction/ Re-Introduction of the Unizulu Students Parliament to allow for greater accountability of the SRC, discussions and debate amongst different student groups, student policy formulation and overall better organisation of the Student Body.
d) Full Accountability on the how the R4 Million SRC Budget was spent, on which programs and why.
e) A Political, Secretariat and Financial Report from the SRC President, Secretary General and Treasurer General on what student issues the SRC has resolved thus far and how in their capacity as the SRC.
These form the pillars of our arguments as to why the SRC Constitution must be amended so that students get the best SRC to represent their interests but there are many more.
The signatures collected through this petition will form part of our presentations to the relevant bodies to demand the seating of a student body meeting so that we can discuss and resolve upon these issues and more.
