While compartmentalization may work in low impact collisions such as those that might occur on a local school bus route, it may not suffice at higher speeds, on highways or where there is a vehicle rollover. This petition is to support the implementation of seat belts on school buses which may require a re-configuration of the seats (ie. farther apart) and education of students riding on them. The support of school boards is going to be necessary with respect to education and training and perhaps allowing older students to accompany younger children on school trips.
