Hi everyone, my name is Amy Shields, and I have a website protectourseals.org. I'm sending out this petition to let Canadians know that the seal hunt is happening in two days. The government has not made this anouncement availiable to the public because they know that Canadians would be angry with this potentially disastrous move. Many seals have died this year, especially pups, due to poor ice conditions, and the government is recklessly going ahead with the hunt anyway. I have read some of Harper's comments on the seal hunt (he's Canada's prime minister), and he seems to think that more than half of all Canadians support the hunt (many polls have shown otherwise).

We as Canadians need to send a very strong message to the government. We demand that the Canadian government immediately withdraw the order declaring the seal hunt for 2010, and end the seal hunt once and for all.
