We are the Seahawk Wrestling Club. This is our 4th year as a 100% student run club team on campus, and we still don't have wrestling mats. The past 4 years we have been renting mat space (with no financial help from UNCW) at an outside facility and it is no longer a viable option. We have requested to use the wrestling mats that other clubs on campus use, but have just been shot down. Our goal now is to obtain our own space on campus, and mats to practice on. In order to do so, we must first demonstrate to the University of North Carolina Wilmington that this will have an exceptional benefit to the university and its student body.
