Yes we would like to honor our children’s hard work and acknowledge their achievement with a smaller group and with required social distancing.

Graduation with your classmates is SO important!! You go thru so much in high school with your peers. Not having a ceremony takes away that feeling of closure with your classmates. Everyone is moving on to the next phase of their life and most leave Maui to attend college. In my opinion it diminishes all the hard work they’ve spent to receive their high school diploma! :(

Others have been carrying out safe graduation ceremonies to provide their seniors celebration of their accomplishments and sense of closure. There must be a way to do this for our relatively smaller group of seniors while still keeping everyone healthy.

We're about to bring in the masses from the mainland so I can see no reason for this to not happen.

Congrats to the Class of 2020. Please let them celebrate and embrace their future just like a generation has done before them. They will be safe and they deserve this.
