Students need direction when it comes to life long learning. Recycling is a change in the way we interact with our world, a change in the way we think about our world, a change in the relationship we have with the earth. Staff, students, families, and community will exponentially benefit if we begin to behave as if recycling is a collective necessity.

Students need direction. Teachers need to know that the initiatives they implement are supported district wide, and beyond.

It is important for students to learn the roles we play as good citizens. Recycling as a part of caring for the environment is good citizenship!

We are huge paper consumers: we have a responsibility to our students, our community - and our planet - to recycle. Shouldn't we be teaching the big ideas? Recycling should be part of our way of "doing business" - organized beyond individual volunteers.

I believe we ought to be good role models and with the other comments that have been offered. I would also like to see other schools within the district petition the district too. I hope we can soon offer this option at Cal and throughout the entire district.

Schools should foster civics, community, and environmental stewardship. It is incomprehensible to me that the school district is not taking leadership in providing recycling opportunities within our schools. Let's move into the 21st century - please get behind a coordinated recycling program for our schools. We can do better.

It is important to model environmentally responsibility and accountability to our students if we want them to adopt these practices in their present and future lives.

I've been recycling my classroom paper for years. Recently, as a result of the public program, I have been taking my classroom recycling home to send out with my household recycling. It's about time that Terrace and this School district entered the 21st century.

Should have been initiated the moment the community instituted a recycling program.
