My hope is that we resolve this issue in a cooperative and respectful way. With all the turmoil over the last year, I think it imperative to all work together to one end - the success of the club - Cheers

A yacht club deserves a robust dining service ..and a bar....both casual fare and full service dining.

The caterer idea would be great if it was viable. This approach was tried before hiring Lori and no one was interested. I had been asked earlier this summer to look into this as well and talked to a few restaurant owners and same, no interest. F&B doesn't have enough volume to make the numbers work for outside caterer and only could be viable if the club financially subsidizes the caterer, which kind of defeats the purpose, but hear your point.

She was informed that employment would be ending - severance paid = termination.

I agree with all requests and expect communication to happen in a very short period to make sure that our membership and what is offered with it has limited delays and no loss in quality.
thank you

I have received several updates regarding galley operations via email. I am not experiencing a lack of communication from the board that is mentioned here. The members have had several recent communications regarding the galley via email. If someone has additional information regarding the claims made in the petition please share with the rest of the members. I understand the concern social members have with wanting to ensure there is continuing food and entertainment, but some of these demands seem unrealistic.
Within minutes of receiving this petition I received a survey from the current board requesting member feedback and an email regarding food and entertainment available this weekend. This is directly conflicting with the notion that food and entertainment are being removed from the club.

Club Bylaws have been violated on so many levels by the current board. They follow their own law. This petition is but one example of a board gone rogue.

Everyone I know is a member of the yacht club because of the social aspect of it. What's important to the social aspect is the quality or the food and beverage offerings.

I frequent both the galley and the bar regularly. And I believe the food, service and drinks are very good. Not perfect, but very good.
And I agree, mostly with the intended questions of this petition. Not to take anything away from the current staff, management and administration that works so hard to make it as good as it is.
However, I have always been of the opinion that we should not operate the galley and bar in house, but rather outsource it to what we call the Caterer. In this way, our costs are known, fixed, scalable, and it releases the Club from the management and administration duties associated with running a bar and restaurant. I believe it is a huge drain financially, of time and of Club resources. And we still have the challenge of finding, keeping, and managing the staff. Not to mention the administration duties, what we call the back room operations. Bookkeeping duties, banking, computer ops, payroll, tax filings, insurance, etc.
For years, we ran the bar and Galley under a Caterer. We have to perform due diligence and search for the right one. There are many new restauranteurs on island and many are eager to expand. I believe this is an avenue that should be seriously explored.
Respectfully, Chris Langella.

I agree with all the comments Irene, Isabel and Anthony have presented. Very thankful for Felice and all the volunteers on the board, and also concerned about food quality and options going forward. We loved Lori's menus.
