We, the undersigned, are in favor of establishing a Santa Clarita Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross, with the obligations and responsibilities of a Community Chapter. The SCV Chapter would focus on service delivery, disaster preparedness, volunteer recruitment and training, fundraising and community relations within its service area, and establishment is intended to better meet the changing service needs of the local communities. Currently configured as a District within the Greater Los Angeles Chapter, the SCV service area is distinct by topography, culture of volunteerism, and community support. We look forward to more efficient and effective management and better service delivery within our area, and an increased ability to help victims of disasters in other areas.
