Would benefit Malta and diving as a sport.
It would create jobs in the diving sector and others. It would be another reason for divers to visit malta potentially stopping costly travel abroad.

Given the huge historical links between this ships name and Malta I think it would be very fitting for the Island to be its final anchorage.

What an exciting deep dive this would make.
I think it would be a great tribute to this ship to find its resting place in Malta. Furthermore, it would justify a trip in itself.

This would be an amazing opertunity for the Maltese diving industry to have another world class dive along with the others they already have.

The historical connection to the name Illustrious should be upheld with scuttling this ship in Maltese Waters!

Totally agree, this would be an amazing wreck to visit and not only serve as a monument to naval veterans but as a major boost to the Maltese diving tourism. I'd dive it for sure.

It would be fantastic for the diving fraternity who visit Malta and would surely increase visits to the area. Ideally it should be sank at a depth available to as many divers as possible.
Over time it would also become a fantastic haven for marine life.

It is the right thing to do. Why destroy when she can continue to serve honorably.
Brilliant idea.. scrap steel isn't worth much
A very good idea.
We deserve a second George Cross.
