To Whom It May Concern:
It has come to my attention that each semester there is at least one graduate level history class that is offered in the 7:30pm-10:00pm time slot. For a variety of reasons, this time slot is extremely inconvenient for many of us who are in the program.
Many of us are either full-time teachers or are working jobs around our school schedule. This time slot can either be extremely difficult or, in some cases, impossible to fit into our schedules. I know that for myself and other students, this time slot cannot be utilized at all due to the fact that we also have to factor in a drive home that takes forty-five minutes to an hour.
This time slot can also be problematic when it is necessary for a student to take two classes in one day to maintain the course plan that they set out for themselves. It is difficult when one if forced to be late to the second class due to the fact that it starts at the same time the first class ends. If the classes are not taken, however, it could negatively affect a course plan. I myself have already had to change my course plan due to not being able to take a course during this time slot, and i am afraid that it will happen again in the fall when I only have one final course to take.
Therefore, I am submitting for your consideration this petition requesting that they 7:30pm-10:00pm time slot not be used in the future for History Graduate classes.
