SCSU Grad Students Matter
The graduate students of South Carolina State University are in desperate need of the following:
- Adequate staffing on Saturdays to make sure that we understand where we are in the Graduate process
- Assigned advisors to successfully map out the graduation process with excellence, and help us with understanding the process of the comprehensive exam
- Understanding what documents are necessary in the specialist or doctoral process
- An adequate number of instructors to help make SCSU's graduate program flourish.
- An administrative staff position available on Saturdays at least between the hours from 9 to 12.
- A bookstore open from the hours of 8 -2 that will allow us to be able to have the necessary tools and supplies that we need for Saturday classes.
- Facilities with properly running air-conditioning and heating.
We could all benefit from having a Director /Administrative Assistant who is committed to the continuing success of this program. We need to have someone that can provide service with excellence and passion as Ms. Elizabeth Horton has in the previous years or others in the past.
We are paying our tuition to make sure that we get a quality education, but we feel like none of our needs are being met. They are not being heard and they don't seem to matter. Please take us seriously. Dr. Fredrick Evans has helped us a great deal, but no man is an island and he is unable to do all the work alone that is necessary, as well as attend to his major duty. Ms. Horton has always been there to help put students' needs first and make sure our concerns are addressed. Please staff someone in this position who will provide us equal or superior service. The quality and excellence that she has exhibited in the past is vital.
The SCSU GRADUATE STUDENTS do MATTER! We want a thriving Educational Leadership program, and we want our concerns to be addressed.
Respectfully,
SCSU Graduate Students/Educational Leadership & Administration
