The worst part is that we were promised high speed by 2010, and here we are 2015 with nothing but dial up or this stupid cap of data

The corporate fat cats won't let us go while they have the monopoly, perhaps even the government tells them, no, this is not okay. Regardless, you have my signature.

It's 2015 Eastlink, don't think you can cap Internet usage without a fight!

Capping what is, by almost universal accounts, a sub-par service makes no sense. This decision affects our rural economy as much as if we had poor or non-existent telephone service. You have to have access to a fast – and reliable – internet connection to function in today's economy. Currently Eastlink Rural Broadband is neither.

It's been 5 years since I started with BRHS, and compared to dial-up, it's not to far from it. What Eastlink needs to realize is that inner town/city limits aren't the only ones trying to keep up with modern times, but rural areas are trying to aswell. As technology improves, so does the internet, thus requires more bandwidth, hence the release of fibre-op. But Eastlink thinks that 1.5mbps is enough for us "out-of-towers". Simply put, it is not. So they they catapult us with a surprise attack with this data-cap non-sense. I will not stand for it, and neither will the rest of us. It's time to fight back!

we need to get municipal, provincial and federal politicians involved too. This effects our economy, our growth, our ability to attract and retain residents.

what this company has been allowed by the government to do to customers is outrageous. Notice they didn't have a problem running high speed to the premier's house!
