Very disgusted with the news that Eastlink will be charging us even more money for a service that is inadequate most times anyway. Most days it's a bonus if we can even get on the internet....and it's an even bigger bonus if we have a server for more than minutes at a time. Since it is the only internet that is available in our area we can't even switch to something that suits our needs better. Dial up might have been slower than cold molasses trying to go uphill, but at least we had service!! I think it's time Eastlink should get with the program before someone else steps in and takes their customers away!!

The Chronicle Herald will be printing my email, containing this petition and our concerns, as a letter to the editor. It's time to be heard. 2 days and we have almost reached 300 signatures!

Going through with this will be substantially damaging to Eastlinks name. Right now the service is poor to good at the best of times, but it is the only internet service provided in a lot of rural areas. Re-think this proposed plan!

They need to improve what we have no take it less useful. If they do this I will go without cause I'm not paying that much money a month to be limited to what I can do .

As my fire departments safety officer we rely on the Internet for receiving calls from valley dispatch because our area has a hard time getting a decent signal on our radios. This data cap will cause a lot of members not to leave this running on their computer/tablet/phone and the community will be at risk.

I'm so tired of seeing & hearing commercials about "faster" internet everywhere but in rural areas, when we're stuck with the same old 1.5 mbps (so they say) service. Eastlink says rural broadband was designed before streaming services like Netflix & is meant for basic internet usage. Well, Eastlink, it's time to upgrade your service! Times are changing - the internet has grown exponentially since your rural service was designed, perhaps you should spend some money growing your rural service & keep up with the times!

Rural service by Eastlink terrible as it is. Scrap future plans and improve our service and give us what we pay for and others get, a usable, reliable and fast service.

If east link can't give us better speeds and connections then the government should take back their contract and reimburse us for the poor service the last few years. I bet it will be cheaper for them to do the job they were hired for

I totally agree with getting rid of the usage cap, and to improve services. With the money we pay every month (it's a bit much), that should be a given, If eastlink puts in a usage cap, I will go with another provider
