Ridiculous that we have to pay just to sit in there for a drink. Should definitely be free on weeknights like any other normal pub.

As a student who lives off campus it is especially off putting for socialising on campus when you have to pay to enter your own student union.

All the money that Sparrows generates is recycled back into the Students Union which pays for staff, equipments, major events nights, products (alcohol, food) etc. But you're all so cheap that you're complaining about paying £2/3 entry fee. In addition they're open three times a week, all of which are events. (Shuffle Monday's, Vibes Wednesday and Soap Friday). So in reality you're petitioning for for entry fees to be scrapped for 'non event' based night when in fact they don't have any. Therefore making this ridiculous facade you call a petition irrelevant.

I agree... painful paying to get entrance to your own SU bar.

Paying entry to play pool and we even pay for that!! Get rid of entry fees!

100% I have never heard of a university charging to enter its Union. No charge on weekdays will encourage more students to come in for a quiet pint and to play a bit of pool.

Its understandable that Soap requires payment for the hiring of equipment and all but for non event nights entry fees are ridiculous.

Totally agree with the non payment of the fees, more people will attend the events knowing that it is free entry...
