Livingston was always advertised as free parking to bring people to shop here.I am lucky if I go to the Center once a week now.I know people who don't bother to come here now.

One of the attractions for car owners to use livingston centre was the fact that there was always more than adequate parking places available to be able to park without the fear that you would return to your car only to find a parking ticket. That freedom has recently been seriously eroded by ASDA imposing sanctions on car users by making charges for parking. Also the local Disco has grabbed land which it does not own by putting up barriers preventing car owners parking in an area which was always open and free from charges

I totally agree .at the last increase in charges I spoke to the centre management but was told that chzrges were comparable to other carparks in the area which is nonsense

The charges are ridiculous, there are far better and bigger shopping centres which don't apply any charges

Since car parking charges were introduced, only use Livingston centre very minimally. Suspect there are many, many others doing the same which will be causing significant loss of potential revenue for retail and food outlets. Be good if whoever is being paid for the unjustifiable decision for car parking charges was brought to account.

I am against the parking charges, we have have to pay each time we visit the shops. Because we are local we attend the Livingston Centre at least 4 times a week. This is costing £16 - £20 per month.

Parking charges needs to be scrapped at the Livingston centre ASAP. I used to go to the gym years ago in the centre/ Livingston designer outlet. Then car park charges started, this in turn made my daily visit to the gym expensive and In turn I cancelled my membership to go elsewhere. This might have been a catalyst for the gym's closure. People high up the chain of command need to think long and hard when introducing these hideous charges. Think about the full knock on effect this can have to local business and the people who's jobs they are potentially toying with. Ocean terminal in leith scrapped their charges years ago, and take a look how busy that place is now. I've been several times and I live in Livingston. So think just how many people would come to Livingston centre if parking was free!!

I'm no longer parking here and I now go to the designer outlet - much better value for money!

Always the same spiraling costs once allowed.

These charges are unjustified especially for Blue Badge holders who may find it difficult to use public transport. It is obvious that disabled people are going to take longer to shop and whilst 50p was tolerable, £1.50 per hour makes shopping or socialising at Almondvale too expensive to contemplate. Have retailers noticed a drop in the number of people using Almondvale and McArthur Glen? Could/should they not be lending their considerable weight to the argument for reduced/free parking?

down in centre two or three times a week and the amount I pay in parking charges is unbelievable, we are now going to as many others outlets and even garden centres for coffee and shopping, in fact I think it is time to move elsewhere!

This is a burden on regular users, who require the services of the centre.
