Join The Scottish Sun On Sunday's battle to end pet refuge cruelty

It's bad enough reading about the cruelty that animals suffer in other countries but, when you discover it's happening on your own doorstep it makes you feel ashamed and sick to your stomach!

Stop rogue pet sanctuaries. We love our pets. Unnecessary deaths.

I have signed this petition because I am an animal lover. No one with a heart would leave an animal to starve to death ! The pictures tore at my heart . This should not be allowed to happen ! We should be ashamed to call ourselves a nation of animal lovers, then allow this atrocity to happen ! There are reputable sanctuaries all over the country, follow their lead - please .......

these people should know better in it just for the money but not spent on the animales

having to put my diabetic pet to sleep this week after years of looking after him I can not understand this cruelty.

These poor animals go from one dreadful situation to another so all sanctuaries must be monitored.

It is so important to get all animal Rescue Shelters regulated. Too many vulnerable animals are at risk from rogue rescuers and animal traders. Most people are unaware of the risks involved in signing their dog (or any animal) over to someone who claims to be a reputable rescuer. The word 'rescue' conjures up images of dogs (and other animals) going into a place where they will be safe and all their needs will be met. Very sadly this is not always the case. There has to be a major clamp down in the rescue world. It must be regulated.
