Regardless of whether a licencing regime would be expensive is complex, there is a moral obligation to protect the vulnerable and stop animal cruelty. Disgusting that a petition has to be started to make you sit up and pay attention. Shame on you.

I think this a great idea after all the recent publicity showing how bad the conditions were at the ark ! I think it is also terrible that these dogs were rehomed to families with small children when they were clearly not suitable for them !

This makes me sick , shut these places down and give these poor babies a decent home, no dog deserves to be treated that way

All pet sanctuaries should be closely monitored/scrutinised to prevent animal abuse and neglect

Totally behind , poor ozzie should never have died at the hands of a rescue , rescue means rescue , he was murdered at a so called charity , it needs to stop and needs to be monitored by tighter regulations , and rescue,s should not be able to set up at the drop of a hat , we are these poor babies voices and they need to be heard

People who pick a dog should do it for over. You don't throw to the street a family member with some lame excuse or other. I understand shelters are sometimes overcrowded that doesn't excuse neglect or cruelty either. About the powerful bull terrier breeds is a joke. Normally pitbulls are very loving animals, like most dogs. I, for one, have two rescued pitbulls and what i can say of them is they are the best dog kissers. It is time we finish with prejudice against the best friend of humans and start to blame the real responsible ones... the BAD persons.

Things need to change......someone need to over see Rescues. I am 100% behind this after a horrific personal experience that may not have happened with regular checks!
