I hope all the ones that have fallen in the line of duty should be honored for their service and the family's are to. May God give them peace to them when this passes.

I have been a law enforcement officer for the past 27 years. I respectfully ask that this bill be passed into law for the benefit of families who have lost loved ones in the line of duty.

I cannot believe in this day and age that the surviving spouse does not receive 100% of members monthly salary at the time of death. Law makers should be ashamed for not fixing this.

This needs to be done, and is the LEAST we can do for the families of those who have given everything.

I was unaware of the current survivor benefits for Law Enforcement. This has brought concern to me as I would want my family to be taken care of as well if I was to parish in the line of duty. These great men and women who have given their lives to protect this great State should be able to pass aid along to their families. As the families are the ones who have given their support and time supporting the chosen profession. Due to the officers demanding profession, the husbands and wives have part time jobs, or none at all to support the home life. This bill would greatly benifit familes.

delete It is something that has been needed for many years. Nobody becomes a cop to get rich; the devastation of losing the loved one is bad enough but to financially punish the family in addition is just unconscionable.

These fallen heroes didn't intend to die in the line of duty. Though they know it's a slight possibility. But the thought is always, working hard to provide for their family by protecting all of us and up holding the law until they are able to retire. So YES....provide for the wife or husband and children 100% if fallen in the line of duty!

This should have been a law a long time ago.

I would've thought this already would've been in place. Pass the bill
