There is plenty of other fat in this town's budget that can easily be cut before the recreation budget. Come on, get real.

Our town needs it's recreation department. It is part of the fabric that keeps us together.

I pay big taxes and at least the town can provide a recreation commission that has provided good services over many years!

Keep the recreation commission. I have lived in Scotch Plains for 45 years, played sports through the rec department growing up and now have kids playing various sports in town. Would like to know why the township want's to get invovled.

All three of my children have been a part of these programs. It would be a shame for a town our size not to have a rec program. Travel sports are not for all children and this program allows children that may just play sports for fun the opportunity to do so without high costs.

My son and I were active participants in scotch plains rec basketball program for 6+ years...he as a player and myself as a volunteer coach. The program is fantastic and should be left intact. If it's not broken, don't fix it.

My children have grown up with the great programs offered by the recreation department. Thanks to the dedicated volunteers, including my husband, this program has brought countless hours of fun to our local children and families. How can a town collect the taxes they do and decided to disband this successful program?
