Great idea. Too many people flying down Prospect during school hours.

If the board says no because of the lack of funds, I too am willing to help raise the amount they are unable to produce! Thank you!

I live on lake st. Kiddie corner from the library. When school let's out the cars go down lake street at an alarmingly fast speed. Most cars do about 40 or above by the time they reach my house. I have 2 small children and there are many other elementary aged children who live on our street. I would love for something to be put up on my street as well.

A visual cue alerting divers to their MPH could be a helpful deterrent to speeding. If the cost of installation or maintenance is prohibited, perhaps residents can work together to raise funds to offset costs. I'd be happy to help with a worthy cause focused on the safety of our families.

This is a good idea, those that don't agree should move!

I drive that route regularly and always slow down near the school.

I know that our village is in a tough financial situation right now, but I think our Board members will consider safety a top priority worth putting on the agenda. If these signs are a cost-effective way to reduce speeds (compared to alternatives such as... ?), I think our community should seriously consider the investment. Signs like this have come up in past meetings - the Safety committee has researched the costs and feasibility - let's make it a reality!

I know they had a speed sign on the corner of Richmond and Lake that did not indicate speeding; however, those results were artificially lowered by the fact that most of the people not speeding were either slowing down to turn into Richmond or were right behind someone turning.

Our children are precious gifts and our future. No excuse can be given is more important than protecting them.
