School Uniform Reconsideration

Ties are a hazard, they can be pulled accidentally or maliciously causing harm to the child wearing them and they just aren’t needed for children aged 4-11... and when does a woman wear a tie in a professional role? Will the female teachers be made to wear a tie? As for the jumpers, there is no way I will be able to purchase a minimum of SIX jumpers from the uniform shop... one in-logo’d jumper from them last year cost me £12.50 (for a different school).

My son will be 6 when he starts in September, I would rather he had sweatshirts ( pen marks), doesn't like jumpers (can't afford for them to go missing) definately no tie.

No to tie the children are too young at this age to wear a tie and will constantly need replacing when lost even if a clip on. Some children with special needs at this age will get stressed at this age. Uniform needs to be low cost and the supermakets provide high quality items at a lower cost.

I think its unreal that a primary school are making children wear ties. No way could my daughter manage to do that . I believe they could also be a hazard to small children. Please reconsider and help keep the cost low for us parents.

I feel i tie would be of no use to my daughter but also due to her age will struggle to even put it back on after say PE. Also i am a low income single parent i only get £85 every 2 years to help fund for school uniform i can no way afford all logo items

Seems daft as paint to put little children in button-down shirts and ties, and dual colour jumpers? Clearly a kickback arrangement going on there

A tie for young children is unnecessary. And duel colour jumpers completely over the top.

I think this is stupid as many family's can't afford it and the school aren't going to provide putting children in ties and other clothing isn't necessary safe they are a choking hazards children don't need to be smart at a young age ties cause choking hazards and young children only see it as fancy dress

Please reconsider. I could barely afford one jumper at the prices they charge let alone several. And shirts and ties for 4yr olds are a ridiculous idea! Unless teachers want to spend the best part of their day redressing children!?!

I am extremely concerned that this uniform has been selected with little to no consideration to whether it is affordable or practical and I suspect it is neither.

I agree we need to be able to buy single colour jumpers and cardigans from our choice of shop. Also I do feel ties for the younger children is unsafe and will no doubt get lost often.

We need to be able to purchase the school uniform at any supermarket so a single colour jumper is needed. Also a tie is not a good idea due to safety reasons and I will never get my son in a tie and shirt as he hates them. High school is bad enough having to wear them when they get there.

The new uniform just isn't suitable for the kids or parents to think the ties and also plain jumpers which can be purchased from supermarkets

I myself have multiple children to buy school uniform for and am already worrying about how I am going to afford it. Being able to shop around in supermarkets would make a massive difference in total cost.
