School Security Is Important To Us!
During the week of April 21st, anonymous threats were made to San Antonio area schools. Our county, city, school district, and school leaders were simply not prepared to respond in a way that installed confidence in the community. The threat day came and went without incident, but each of us, as parents of kids in public schools, are left with this nagging question. Are our children safe in our schools? BY SIGNING THIS PETITION I ...
... Affirm my agreement that school safety should be a number one concern for county, city, district, and school personnel.
... Pledge to continue to be a part in keeping this conversation going and this issue on the top of everyone's mind.
... Express my concerns with the current degree to which a cohesive school security plan exists to the degree required by the violence and threat level of our current day and age.
... Want a detailed explanation with regards to county, city, district, and school level security plans.
... Want a detailed account of spending and funding, current and future planned allocations, specific to security related issues.
... Will vote and will do so with considerations of how the candidate chooses to address the priority of school security. This includes county, city, local, school board, and bond elections.
... May consider periodically participating in events that may include things like scheduled andpublicized "school day sit outs"wherein my children will be intentionally kept home as a show of support for a continued focus on school security.
... Care! I will care about my children, I will care about the hard working teachers, I will care about the dedicated administrators.
