The administration reversed the decision and our original school hours are staying in place. It has been a long and draining process but we finally have some stability for our families again. Keep an eye on school board notices so we can catch any future changes before they take root.

We are collecting signatures to reverse the decision to change the school hours of operation which is currently 8:20 am and dismissal at 2:40 pm to the new hours of 8:00 am and dismissal at 2:20 pm daily Monday-Friday.
This petition will be presented (or sent) to the principal and staff of P.S. 144, and our goal is to keep the current time schedules.  The new hours of operation will affect many of us and our teachers. A 20 minute change will affect our work, travel, babysitting and most important sleeping schedules into disarray. Voting processes have been made during the school year affecting all of us. This change has been made through a small group of people without objective opinions. Let Our voices be heard in the decision process!
We may not agree with all the changes the Board of Education makes for our children and their education but for this change ( an internal decision not that of DOE) WE DO have a say and signing this petition WILL make a difference! So please take the time and have all members of household sign this petition to keep the current schedule intact for years to come.

The response to this has been overwhelming and the momentum tells me that I am not fighting this battle alone. I am exhausted from the constant back and forth but seeing all of you rally behind this schedule change gives me the resolve to keep pushing forward.

Getting kids out the door is hard enough at 8:20. That 20 mins makes a world of difference in the mornings.

Keep the old times. My commute is already rough and this is just gonna make it worse.

This is ridiculous. 8am is too early for my kids to be ready and get to school on time. They need their sleep.

Who decided this without asking us first? Completely unfair to change everything on short notice.

My babysitter cant get there any earlier than they do now. This is going to be a huge problem for working parents.
