School dress code

Let us wear shorts again please it's way to hot and if we wear shorts just make it to where we can't show our bum

It sucks. It’s disgusting sexualizing minors, at this point It seems like they don’t want us to distract the staff… people are loosing class time over half an inch and None of these girls are Distracting anyone.

Let these kids wear what they want as long as it’s respectful. Clothes have zero influence on education.

the dress codes are getting outrageous, if we want to wear pajamas thats our own unprofessional behavior, crop tops? its 24-25 its there body let them be themselves, and shorts? its hot out? and humid. what they do is on them and it doesnt reflect the school

This is stupid the fact that cheerleaders got dress coded is crazy and it’s a school issued uniform!

I shouldn’t have to worry abt what if im going to get dress coded or not distracting me from my learning.

Literally got dress coded yesterday and the amount of girls that were in there getting new shirts or shorts, and then at the end of the day the office was full because of how many students they dress coded, at this point is also gonna start making bus riders late because of how many people there are(there were no guys in there for dress code)

I strongly think the school dress should be changed, or atleast equal and fair, like all of the other students. We should be able to dress freely and comfortably.

there's nothing wrong with having a dress code but the problem with cy wood's dress code is that - it's incredibly sexist (when have you ever seen a guy get dress coded) - the dress-coding itself is more distracting than what the students are wearing (i fear the only people who care are the adults and not the students) - what we are wearing doesn't represent our education and the two things shouldn't be related to each other, wearing what cy woods considers to be 'revealing clothing' doesn't affect our ability to learn so I don't understand why it's such a big issue - everyone's arms are a different length and the "shorts must be an inch longer than your fingertips" rule is ridiculous. some people have naturally long arms and it's restricting what they can wear to an unfair extent. - if the dress code is in place to protect students from non-consensual photos being taken, why would the people punished not be those who take the photo but rather the victims? - you can't be broke, in debt, and have no ac, and expect students to not want to wear shorts? pick a struggle please. we live in texas and the high is constantly above 100 degrees, use some common sense. - putting students in dmc for dress code is stupid. having students sit in dmc instead of in class interferes with our learning much much more than anything else. the school claims that 'revealing' clothing "distracts other students from learning", so why not punish the people who are choosing to not pay attention?? why would you take educational time away from a student who did nothing wrong by putting them in dmc? - the dress code implies that women's bodies are 'distracting' and 'incorrect' and the school enforcing it to such an extent shows that they support these beliefs - why are grown adults looking at, analyzing, and judging, what minors/18 year olds are wearing. you genuinely cannot tell me that you think that telling a minor that "their clothes cause a distraction because they are too revealin

Having a less strict dress code makes me feel more like myself, more confident, and its a way I can express myself!

I think dress coding girls for wearing 4 inch shorts when they walk in first thing in the morning is more distracting than the actual shorts are. I got dresscoded first thing this morning and there was about 15+ girls in the APs before school even started. what if my parents were working and they couldn’t come bring me extra pants to change into then I’m stuck in DMC, which is also disturbing my learning. The only people that seem to care are GROWN ADULTS looking at CHILDREN to see if their outfits are inappropriate? My shorts were the same length as some of the guys and they said nothing to them, but since I’m a girl, I can’t wear shorts? and having to come pick up your clothes at the end of the day when their parents waiting outside, you have sworn to be after school or you’re a bus rider? There are so many worst things going on in that school and obviously theres money issues and you’re worried about what I’m wearing? It sounds like maybe get your priority straight before you worry about what I’m wearing when it’s not showing anything inappropriate.

As a student I would love to feel comfortable with it’s the clothes in school, of course I wouldn’t be wearing super revealing clothes, but I just find it unfair that we cannot wear strapped shirt or shorts. It’s so In school and the School Acs Don’t be working sometimes I just find it dumb how to school spend our money opening on a brand new school taking our phones away and doing a lot of changes without having consideration students.
