It’s more of a distraction to the learning environment by pulling us out of class for dress code than actually being out of dress code.

The new dress code disrupts my learning environment because I am being forced to cover up more by wearing leggings and other pants since I don’t own any longer shorts. Personally, I am not nearly as comfortable in longer pants as I am in shorts, as when I’m wearing shorts I feel free and ready to learn. This is even more of an issue now because I understand, due to budget cuts, the AC had been cut down and will shut off around three. This means that the school is hotter and we’re wearing more clothes. I was literally breaking a sweat in some of my classes today due to the new dress code. I completely understand covering our butts and not showing off all the goods, but we should dress code the people that are genuinely cheeked out. Also, I don’t see how being more lenient with the dress code will cause any problems because I’ve never seen someone get distracted from learning due to someone wearing shorts or a crop top. Finally, on the issue of pajamas and slippers, some students are genuinely more comfortable and learn better when they wear pajama pants or slippers. I understand we have to prepare for the real world and have to dress nice for our jobs in the future, but we are still just kids here and would like to enjoy every last moment in high school that we can as comfortably as possible before we jump into working a 9-5 and starting a family. Additionally, there are usually no dress codes in college, so we will just go back to wearing what we have been wearing there, so even if you’re trying to prepare us for the real world it won’t work if we plan on going to college because we will be allowed to wear whatever we want in college. Thank you for your consideration and I hope this was of use.

the insane amount of dress coding and repetitive announcements about dress code is way more distracting than the clothes we wanna wear in general. and if were gonna have to suffer with bad ac, at least let us wear shorts
