School District Must Clearly Demonstrate That Dollar Street Woods is a Suitable Location to Build an Extra-Large Middle School.

I am very concerned about what this will do to the character of this area, not to mention the traffic nightmares it will create in an area that already has terrible traffic back ups in the afternoon/evening. I live in Willamette nighborhood and dread the thought of what this will mean for local residents

The plan to build a middle school is asinine. As an Arbor Cove resident, it is already next to impossible to get in or out of our development between the hours of 2 pm and 6:30 pm due to congested traffic and overflow from interstate 205 commuters taking it as a “short cut” around traffic. Please do not ruin this neighborhood with additional traffic and destruction of its natural beauty.

Please don’t build here. Was rejected by WL City Council in ‘94, should be rejected again.

Yes, I am extremely concerned - we live in Arbor Cove, just below the potential school build. Forest & hill/unstable embankment great concern.

Split the school district and we won't need another school for years.

Willamette Falls Drive cannot handle the traffic already using it as a bypass to I205. Moving Athey to this location will dramatically impact an already terrible situation.

Save the woods please

As a local resident in bosky Dell I have huge concerns around traffic congestion and safety, which is already a huge problem already with traffic diversion off I-205 and the upcoming sports facility being built near Wankers Corner

Having lived next to this property for 12 years in the past I know every inch on this land and can say as a real estate professional that the topology is not economical to develop as a school. The school district owns other property that would be far more suitable and economical. The Dollar St. site was optioned to a developer in 2006 as a housing development. Although this failed, this was the highest and best use for the property.

Not only is the need for this new facility (and the assumed number of children who would walk to the new school) highly questionable, the proposed location is more than merely unsuitable -- it would require major upgrades of Willamette Falls Drive, very negatively impact residents and residential streets, eliminate an existing green space, be located in a very questionable area geologically due to the river across the road and steep hills, and absolutely needs close scrutiny by West Linn's planning and other advisory boards. This was basically snuck into the recent bond request without specifics. There was simply no opportunity for proper community and advisory input.

We need to get the word out to save this little green oasis in West Linn and stop this unnecessary school expansion boondoggle.

It’s not the right place for such a large school.

Concerned about the smaller space and higher student enrollment and the traffic roads not adequate for more traffic.
