Locating a school of this size in an area already heavily impacted by severe traffic congestion isn't simply a bad idea. It's dangerous. And apparently not even the best site. Back to the drawing board, please!!!

During the recession the WLWV business manager in a community meeting stated that this property did not meet minimum size standards for a primary school as the reason they wanted to sell it. I question it’s feasibility for a middle school. I also do not believe it has the space to accommodate the parking and traffic impact needed to support a middle school operation and all of the associated sports and activities. ACMS is an outstanding school- the best in the district in my opinion. Why disrupt a good working facility that is designed to meet the unique needs of middle school aged children and their families?

Check out the Oregon State Geological Hazards Site at https://www.oregongeology.org/hazvu/index.htm The map shows that the southern side of the property adjacent o willamette falls drive has a high landslide risk where landsliding is likely. Most of the rest of the property is classified as having a landslide potential that is possible. The property is expected to experience a "severe" level of shaking during a local earthquake, and "very strong" shaking during a Cascadia quake. The cost to try to mitigate these hazards is likely to be very high. Why not just put the health and safety of our students ahead of convenience and find a better place to build? Perhaps the City of West Linn could find a way (maybe a bond measure) to purchase this land and make it an extension of fields bridge park. This would pretect this special proiperty for current and future generations to enjoy.

I suggest leaving as many trees as possible on the school grounds, make it a wooded school. Make the tree and nature conservancy feature of the school. It will become a magnet school of such. Kid of like the Environmental Middle School in Portland but much better. That way you get a compromise and and extension school. I traveled to Portland to take myso to EMS from OC. I now have grandchildren in WL

The existing 37 acres at Athey School has not been fully examined as a location for the new school. Additional levels could be put on the existing parking lot and solar collectors could be installed on top. New buildings could be placed in the northwest corner to preserve the football field. County “restrictions “ on building in unincorporated areas need to be examined fully.

This location is not suitable for a school. Traffic and parking are issues that need to be addressed. Put the school where the students are.

I do not believe this plan has been well thought out. Much more work needs to be done to prove that this is a viable option, particularly in regards to parking, traffic, and park usage. I would also like to see where the actual population growth is located. It makes more sense to put the school where the population is growing.

As a new resident in the community It did not take long for me to realize that Dollar Street Woods is truly beloved by the community and visitors...the amount of people who use this area on a daily basis was astounding to me...and made me realize how important this grove is to sooo many people and their well-being including their children and pets! Also the visitors who've been coming here for years. The amount of use it gets daily and the fact that there aren't any natural areas close by to all the the people in these neighborhoods where they can go for a walk while enjoying the quiet, reflecting on the beauty of the natural surroundings in my mind far surpasses the need to destroy it and and put a large school in this small little paradise The community and the creatures that survive in it would be devastated! Too many people do not look at such destruction of nature this way despite Oregon's reputation of loving and protecting areas of spaces such as this...surely there can be a larger space for the school to be built on....although it may take even longer than desired to find it would be the most environmentally sound decision to make in my opinion.

Given the current traffic on Willamette Falls in the early evenings, and the fact there would there would be limited emergency access, I am completely against the building of this new school.
