Hello. My name is Blanka and I go to an all girls' school. I know this may seem like a story just about why "I hate school" and why "I wish it never existed" etc, I don't feel this way. I really enjoy school. But what I also enjoy is being healthy. Even though children are less affected by the virus than adults, we can't deny the fact that we are in contact with a lot of people. First, walking to the bus stop and waiting there for a few minutes. All it takes is one cough, one infected droplet to enter our bodies for the virus to find a new host. Then boarding the actual bus. There are 70 or so children on my bus. Most of the time, there aren't enough seats, so everyone crowds in the front, shoulder to shoulder, all squashed together. Now, if someone coughs or sneezes... My friend on the bus has a poor immune system. Coronavirus is more contagious when children are their hosts. Then the actual school. There are around 1000 people all together at my school. We are already running out of hand gel. Now, not many people actually know what's going on in secondary, but people have the stupidness to joke. Cough in someone's face etc. Imagine if this wasn't a joke. What if someone was infected. Whenever this happens, I think of my friend with her poor immune system. Plus we are children? WE are the future. Not only have we got enough problems such as climate change to reflect upon, but we also have school work.
And now the coronavirus.
Please, hopefully now that you've listened to my story, you'll know what's going on. The fear is putting us under pressure. As numbers rise and people die, is it right that we are continuing as normal?
