Hands off our green space!

1. The Fessenden property is used by dozen of people daily. (dog walkers, runners, kids on bikes, baseball, basket ball, skate boarders, playground structures)

2. Let's keep Ancaster Village staying a small town feel - No Big Box Houses Please!!!

3. Let's choose fresh air for our kids and NOT devices and staying indoors.

4. The huge impact on the value and Real Estate costs of our homes. If the land is developed on the value of our homes will plummet.

5. Safety of our children in respect to increased traffic where they are used to playing.

6. The flow of traffic on this very quiet street. The residents here like their quiet neighbourhood.

7. No other Green Space in this sub-division. Where shall our children play?

8. Save the Trees!!! We have achieved 3 consecutive Gold, 2 Platinum and should be receiving another Platinum this year. That is 6 straight years!!! We have been asked many times to speak at ECO-learning events for our board on our success and mentor other schools. Please don't take away all that our students, staff and parent volunteers have worked so hard for.

• Do you go for walks with your pets and loved ones to the park space?

This space is in danger of being turned into residential houses. After more than 2 centuries this area has developed yet retained it's small town feel. The individuals that live in " The Village" enjoy this space as a great place to raise their families and different from the Meadowlands in that people spend much of their time outdoors. The green space at Fessenden Elementary School property is imperative and necessary for all the children and families that live here. There is no other Green Space in our neighbourhood and this is disturbing to say the least.

Hands off our Green Space!!!

We need Ancaster residents to be aware of the possible threat of Big Box Houses and the impact they will have. The HWDSB may sell this land...then what? Is it still all about the children then as they stated at the 1st and 2nd Community meetings? This plan to change the land space is short sighted of the Hamilton Wentworth District School Board. Our neighbourhood is changing over and more younger families are moving in.

We the residents and friends of Ancaster Village Community call on our Ward Councillor Lloyd Ferguson, HWDSB, our cities Mayor Fred Isenberg and all the involved trustees at the HWDSB to oppose this change in our area. We need our Green Space and want it to stay as such!!!

• Our children want fresh air!

After all its all about our children and what is best for them...right?

If you like this land space as such and don't want Big Box Houses, increased traffic, safety hazards for our children, no where to play outside and LOSS OF GREEN SPACE.
