I agree with this 100% and I am a retired teacher. Open house is on July 31st this year...JULY 31ST...this is ridiculous!

I think kids go to school enough as it is Us parents would like to have more time with our children as we are there parents and we hardly get enough time with them

Quit making OUR kids go back to school in the middle of summer. These busses do not have air and temps will be well into 90s.

It's too hot to start the beginning of August we should wait till the very end of August and go through the first week of June when it's not so hot these buses do not even have air-conditioner for our kids not to mention how thirsty they are after a 2 1/2 hour bu are after a 2 hour bus ride! The bus ride is not like it used to be when we were kids these bus routes are way too long !!! So they need to look at that o so they need to look at that also.

You are taking away from the kids! Ending their summer break before summer is even close to being over! School should not begin Til late August, Like it's always been!! You are taking time away from family, sports, etc!! Mine always attended school 180 days, but never has it started In July! This is ridiculous !! Kids are pressured for time, School All day, Hours of homework, Family friends sports, it's crazy the amount of stress put in kids today! So what are the parents and kids supposed to give up? Family dinner around the table to talk about their day , the sports they love,or 2/3 hours of homework!! If it must be given out at all, why not 1 subject A day?? Take some of the pressure off these kids and more will attend and Graduate!! They drop out as soon as possible to get out from under the stress!!

I went to school in PA. We started Tuesday after labor day and got out June 5th through 10th. We had 180 days. Please reduce # of days to 160, but increase each day by 1 hour. That would be the equivalent of 20 8 hour days that are being dropped from school year. Thank you for your time.

With parents working, it's makes it hard enough to spend time with our child. So this extra month would give us more time. Plus, why do they need to go to school sooner? It would probably help with attendance. Kids would have less days to be there.

It's insane to start school season in the beginning of August. I'm so tired of seeing the kids true summer being stripped away from them. No need to sit on hot buses in August.

During my travels this summer, I discovered states that have laws to keep schools from starting before september. Our county does not have air on the regular ed buses and we are starting earlier and earlier. I would rather get out in the first of June than start in Aug. With temps of 110° on parked buses.
