Final supporters
At this time, however, we have been notified of some drastic changes being made to our leadership team. While we are proud of Mr. Miklas and the opportunity that has been presented to him, Lorraine Elementary still needs his guidance and expertise!! With the additional expectations from the State and the District, and the challenges of a growing school community, NOW IS NOT THE TIME TO CHANGE OUR LEADERSHIP TEAM.
We, the Lorraine Community, are concerned about the incoming administrative team. The District has decided to assign a Principal and an Assistant Principal from the SAME school, which happens to be a NYS Priority School. The Principal had to be removed from that school BY LAW, because she has been there for 3 years, and it is a low-performing school. It is virtually unheard of for the District to transfer two administrators from one school to another (together). However, that is what the plan is for Lorraine.
We must question:
WHY bring two administrators from a priority school to Lorraine?
WHY change what we know is already working at a fast-growing school?
WHY does Lorraine have to endure administrative changes every few years, while other schools have the benefit of consistent leadership?
WHY must our children pay the consequences for the lack of success at another BPS school?
PLEASE KEEP THE 2013-14 ADMINISTRATIVE TEAM (Mr. Miklas, Mrs. McCormick, and Mr. Drouin) in place at LORRAINE ELEMENTARY #72!! We are NOT done yet. Our students NEED stability and consistency. Our students DESERVE to stay on track and remain a school in good standing.
Please sign our petition, which will be presented to the Board of Education at the next meeting with public comment. It appears it is the afternoon of August 6th.

I have been reading through all the stories you are sharing about our school and it is clear how much this community cares. This momentum belongs to you because I am just one parent trying to make sure our children get the consistency they deserve. I am working to get some answers from the district office about these sudden changes.

I am truly overwhelmed by the momentum this has gained lately and I never thought this would reach so many people. It really belongs to all of you who looked at this situation and decided it was worth speaking up for our school. Thank you for stepping up when I truthfully did not know where to turn.

my kids are finally happy at school and mr miklas is the reason for that. PLEASE keep him at lorraine he is doing so much good work here
THIS IS WRONG. Why would the district send bad admins here when we are doing so well? keep our team intact.
Why Lorraine we get a new principle every 2 years can't this be a diffrent school now
so tired of them messing with our school, leave mr. miklas alone he actually cares about the kids and knows all our names
please do not remove our principal Mr. Mikalas he has been a a great leader for our school the students love and respect him, removing him will be a devestating to the many students he has gotten on the right path
