Unacceptable.

The lack of consequences for his actions are shocking, and putting him back in a position where he can victimize again is even more so. There should not second chances in cases like this.

He's a disgusting monster who shouldn't be allowed to harm anyone ever again and should not be allowed on any campus

Come on Brock, show some substance and support for your students.

I'm extremely disappointed with how this has been handled. Especially in the wake of #metoo, this should not be happening. Bringing back this professor proves that the safety of its students is not at Brock's forefront.

As a Brock graduate who campaigned for the university to fire this prof 3 years ago - I am appalled and ashamed by the university's continued protection of a sexual predator.

Brock has prioritized a professor’s job over the comfort and safety of its students. If he was really remorseful he would know resigning is the only way to rectify what he did.

I retired as a prof from Brock in 2018. In 2016 I was appalled and now in 2019 I am doubly appalled.

Speak up.

He is an absolute disgrace to Brock and makes the campus unsafe.

Allowing him to continue to work at brock is giving him validation that his actions are OK when they are the furthest thing from this. Sexual misconduct performed by professionals of often ignored but this can not continue he should most definetly have to resign.

It is extremely frustrating that in situations like this, girls are still being told to keep quiet. Brock has courses that involve studying sexual harassment, various types of abuse and rape. In my years at Brock, I was taught by this teacher as well as taken part in the courses where sexual abuse was a topic. Even in those courses people could not comprehend the seriousness of these issues. How can Brock teach about these serious issues yet turn a blind eye when it comes to one of their own professors? Girls and guys should not have to be told to keep quiet over something that is completely wrong and consequences should follow. I’m very disappointed in Brock for allowing Dr. Schimmelpenninck to resume without consequences other than a couple years off. In my opinion that is not a strong enough punishment for his actions considering this poor girl is still experiencing his actions. Where is Brock’s media release or thoughts on this issue? What will happen if this happens to another girl or guy at Brock? I’m very disappointed and no longer proud to be a Brock badger alumni.
