Well the plans are officially off the table and I honestly still feel like I am processing it all because they actually listened for once. It is just such a massive relief that the street stays as it is despite how worried I was about the parking and all that …

On Aug 18th 2010 plans were unveiled to the public by the Scarborough Islamic Society to build a mosque in the local area. The Mosque to be built in Roscoe Street will only be serving 100 Muslims in the area and yet will drain tax money for the area. Would the same thing be done for a church? Scarborough is a seaside town, resort and is no place for a Mosque. The Mosque would bring parking problems, added noise pollution from the Call to Prayer. Not to mention possible attacks on the Mosques. Now we stand together and say NO the start of the Islamification of Scarborough.

I have been hearing from so many of you who are just as worried about the parking situation on Roscoe Street as I am. It is honestly exhausting trying to get the council to listen to these real concerns about noise and traffic instead of just brushing us off like we do not matter.

I really never thought this would gain this much steam (honestly I expected it to just sit there) but here we are and people are actually backing what I wrote. It feels like the town is finally waking up to the reality of the situation on Roscoe Street which is just wild to see happen in real time.

how does this meet the rules for a charity? when all its members want sharia law,Revoke the charity status, before they get money from middle eastern contributions.

If they want a mosque let them build it somewhere else not right in the middle of our community.

Who is paying for this exactly? Local residents shouldn't have to deal with the noise or the parking nightmare.

THE TRAFFIC ON ROSCOE STREET IS BAD ENOUGH ALREADY WITHOUT EXTRA CARS EVERY SINGLE DAY. DONT DO IT.
