We, the undersigned, believe that a woman\'s right to ante-natal scans in the UK should not be decided by a postcode lottery.
All women should be entitled to a free scan at 12 weeks of pregnancy to determine her dates and the health of her baby should she want it!
20 weeks is too long to wait!
We ask that the British government look at this as a priority and ensure that no woman is prevented from receiving vital treatment and reassurance just because of where she lives.
I have finalized a formal briefing document detailing the regional disparities in scan availability for submission to the Department of Health and Social Care. My next move involves coordinating with regional health boards to verify their current funding allocations for early pregnancy units.

Waiting until 20 weeks is way to long. The anxiety is unbearable.

Ridiculous that I had to pay private for my 12 week scan because my local trust wouldnt do one. Every baby matters.

Its 2019 and we are still struggling with this? basic healthcare shouldnt be a gamble based on where you happen to live.

My wife was so worried until we finally saw the baby. This really needs to be standard everywhere.
