Shotgun starts are effective in having everyone start and finish at approximately the same time. That makes perfect sense for social rounds (i.e. Sunday Ambrose), but is unnecessary on a Saturday competition day. The golf tends to be slower than normal and the majority of the players don't get to play the course in the correct order (i.e. 1 through 18).

Saturday's Golf comp is sacrosanct and should never be interfered with. As a club we need to raise standards to reflect exclusivity and not mediocrity. No MORE short gun starts please on Saturday.

We have 6 days to generate much needed revenue. Saturday's should be exclusively for members as all high end clubs operate.......a time sheet where members can choose their time. No shotgun starts.

Members should be able to have the choice on Saturday competition days as to when they want to play, particularly if they prefer to play early in the morning. Shotgun starts inevitably result in slow play.

no other club of high standing ever has shotgun starts on their main comp day .we should fall in line with royal melb.kingston heath ,nsw,the australian etc if we are to see ourselves as a pre eminent qld club

I work 4-5 days per week and Friday's are difficult to get a game let alone over crowding Saturdays.

I do not believe shotgun starts are how the game should be played, except for corporate days. All club comp games should start from the 1st or 10th tee. Please remove the shotgun starts from members comps.
