Thank you to everyone that participated in this petition, both online and offline. We reached around 400 signatures in all.We were not able to keep this store open, but we did have some success, and we certainly feel it has been worthwhile.

Starbucks Surbiton is now closed, and it will be missed. Some of the staff are moving to other branches, some to other companies, and some are not yet sure what their future holds. We wish all of them the very best and thank them for their kindness and service over the years.

As for the customers, well, it's not clear what'll happen to us.. there is still coffee out there, and there are other coffee shops.. i guess we'll have to take our chances. Wish us luck.

Keep SURBITON Starbucks Open

We are campaigning to keep our local Starbucks coffee shop open. Yes, other coffee shops are available, but this one is special. Special to us and to the people in our community. It is that community that makes it special and makes us stand up to keep it alive and keep it here.

Starbucks has been a part of Surbiton for 14 years. For 14 years it has it has brought people together over coffee, building friendship and community among its loyal customers. It has kept us warm, from the warmth of the welcome by the excellent baristas and partners, to the warmth of the consistently high quality brews in our cups, to the warmth of chatting with friends and groups and new acquaintances from the regulars and locals.

Just as any pub is a part of the community here in England, so is our coffee shop. It means something to us. And so we ask Starbucks to listen and to engage. To join with its customers, invest in this store, in its development, its future and build something together.

As their motto says: To inspire and nurture the human spirit – one person, one cup and one neighborhood at a time.
