The height restriction is not smart. I own a business that upfit tall european style vans. These vans are not wide and can park in a normal space. They should not be penalized by this law. It will effect my business.

can see the width restriction, but the height restriction is not practical. In fact the height restriction effects some pickup trucks and SUV's

How does the height weigh in on surface street safety? None sense. The ban is focused on RV's, yet look what the net is dragging in.... not well thought out. Shameful!

I'm a local downtown business owner and my sprinter van is part of my business for the past 5 years. I've also been a resident on home owner of Santa Barbara for the past 37 years. This law makes no sense and effects my ablility to do my business and pay my taxes in Santa Barbara.

Hello, i own an electrical contracting business and have several vehicles one of which is a sprinter and this bylaw will affect our business, we need to be able to park in front of our customers residences, or nearby
to be able to properly service our customers in a timely manner.
I understand no overnight parking or being too close to a corner ,give it some more thought please.

I am a native Santa Barbara resident and visit frequently in my Sprinter. Come up with a compromise - but do not instill a blanket nonsense ban. If it truly is a safety issue a compromise can be made to allow vans to park w/in the city limits but not within x feet of corners where a potential problem with visibility could occur.

Sprinter Van Owner who operates a catering business. I use the vehicle for my primary transportation. This ordinance is ridiculous. The issue is the homeless population living in RV's. Blue collar businesses will be hindered with this ordinance. Seems like this ordinance just gives police more revenue with all the tickets they will issue. Most of us won't give up our Sprinter Vans since it's the perfect vehicle for certain businesses.

Height should not be a determining factor in this new ordinance. Sprinters, Transits, Promasters as well as many trucks and SUV's are all above the height limit. These vehicles are used for everyday transportation as well as serve service vehicles for many businesses. The ordinance needs to re-written to reflect the intention of what it is trying to control, not some broad stroked over reaching restriction.

Sprinter owner here with a legally register PASSENGER VEHICLE that should be allowed to park legally where other passenger vehicles are permitted to park.

Tall vehicles promote our healthy lifestyle by letting us store bikes, boards, soccer goals etc. safely. How does height affect safety? If safety is truly the issue what about UPS, Fed Ex, ambulances, Cox, school busses, trash trucks, vans for handicap, nursing home vans, really? Where do we stop?

This is a transparent ordinance. It's a shame that city planners aren't able to address issues honestly and effectively. This new law is going to affect more members of the community of which is wasn't intended. It should be immediately revoked and replaced with an appropriate measure to deal with the homeless problem. Don't use ill conceived laws to deal with problems that harm the residents.

I think this is discriminatory and unconstitutional as taking ones pursuit of happiness. The city council cannot, nor do we taxpayers want them to define our "happiness" rights. Again it is a lack of information before voting on an item. What does height have to do with it. I thought width was codified in the Dept. of Transportation standards.
