As a co-op owner in Westchester, I see no good reason for this legislation; meanwhile, it will make the job even harder for our co-op board members, making them less likely to volunteer their service. This legislation is unnecessary and unfair, and I will not vote for anyone who supports it.

Coop board members are elected by the shareholders protect their interest. We don't need any "help" from politicians.

Stay OUT OF MY BUSINESS. The way we RUN OUR BUSINESS has kept us financially sound for many years. Government involvement destroys small business so STAY OUT OF IT. I will NOT vote you in again should you fail to heed this warning.

Don't break a system that works. Prospective co-op purchasers are protected under the anti-discrimination laws, which is sufficient protection of their rights.

Coop boards are elected by the building shareholders to represent the best interests if the building. If the duly elected board members arent able to make decisions on potential additions to a cooperative living situation with confidentiality it will hamper the cooperatives ability to choose applicants which meet the values and needs if the cooperative

As Pres of the Board at 110-150 Draper, I have approved dozens of applicants over the years, and only 2 did not receive approval because of financial inconsistencies. We ask only that our prospective shareholders express a willingness to abide by our rules, to be good neighbors and who seem eager to become a part of our community. We ask that we we be permitted to do this in the future to ensure that our co-op continues to thrive and to be a harmonious place to live. Our screening process is fair and unbiased. We just want shareholders who can afford to live here and will not cause problems for their neighbors. Thanks,

As a cooperative board member for eleven years, I know that our Board holds the interests of our shareholders as primary. I think this legislation will work against that because it will put unnecessary pressure on a Board's goal of benefiting its shareholders.

Legislator's must work for the cooperatives not against them. We suffer more and more each day trying to keep our community healthy and financially sound. We work Hard volunteering our time to keep our home in good standing for all that live in the community.
