Although I am in favor of increasing neighborhood diversity and density, this project, as proposed does not align with even the West Vancouver guidelines in particular regarding reducing GHG's, proximity to shopping and business areas or transit and also given the other 5 focused areas that are already approved. (Marine Drive (3rd and 11th streets, Ambleside, Taylor Way corridor, Horseshoe Bay and Cypress Village). If this particular development were scaled down considerably it would make a much better fit all the way around for all stakeholders. (ie. 5 duplexes or 4, 4 unit townhomes, etc.)

I strongly oppose the Aquila development for Eagle Harbour. The units do not fit the neighbourhood and the increase in traffic would be immense. In the community plan there were 5 areas selected for denser development in West Van, Eagle Harbour was not one of them. Help save the fabric of our neighbourhood, vote NO to Aquila.

Eagle Harbour is a small, quiet, and intimate community with very limited infrastructure and amenities to support this expansion. To cite that it is a 'location close to transit, shops, and amenities' is a stretch at best. Transit runs, at peak times, only every half hour, and often only hourly and is primarily limited to Marine Dr.; there are NO amenities within what could be considered convenient walking distance for the average person, which means that the argument of reducing emissions is impossible here. I strongly recommend that this project be denied!

We have lived in the Eagle Harbour & Gleneagles area since 1978 & strongly oppose the Aquila project. The size & scope will bring further stress to traffic on both Marine Dr & Westport Rd. During construction of such a huge undertaking the neighborhood will be inundated with heavy trucks & machinery This area is surrounded by a school, playground & beaches which our families readily walk to. It will pose dangers to those of us who are local trail users. This is NOT an area which should be so heavily built up. We understand the need for lower cost housing to keep younger families here, but since when are town house units from $1.1 - $1.9 million low cost! We have already had to battle the project at St Monica's church area, another totally busy intersection & now this project looms. There has been no thought toward the end resulting impact on this community. We urge that this project not be allowed to continue further.

I am not opposed to reasonable and measured development, but this trend of jamming as many homes as possible into small spaces and calling it "affordable" or suitable for the "missing middle" is tiresome and daunting. There's a better way forward.

Zoning in Eagle Harbour should stay single family. Multi-family development does not complement the community. Same for the 5665Westport.com development. I'm a 32 year resident of Eagle Harbour and most neighbours I've spoken with were attracted the area because of its large lots, country style living and affordability. Eagle Harbour already provides real estate price points for the "missing middle" Young families are moving in. District employees are residents. The density proposed in these two developments is not suited for Eagle Harbour area.

I strongly appose a this multi family home in my neighborhood .
Westport has become a highway and now adding high density housing to this area will just add to the chaos and hustle and bustle of Westport. I moved into this area to get away from the hustle. There’s no public transportation, schools are full and we do not have the resources for this kind of development. Eagleharbour is known for its single family homes, high density housing will ruin that.

Developers should not be allowed to bait and switch. If you get approval for 10 homes, build 10 homes. Do not come back and build something entirely different.

This to me is clearly a money grab given that the developer now realizes big executive homes are not as profitable in this day in age. Also calling this community close to everything is a bit of a stretch. Everything is a drive. Except possibly the beach. And speaking of the beach if this community is so important to West Vancouver’s future housing needs how about fixing our beach and our park?! This is the wrong place and the wrong project. And the traffic estimates I saw for this project are a joke. I don’t care what your spreadsheets tell you, I live here, and the amount of additional traffic on Marine Drive will be overwhelming.

I am angry that, after approval was given for 10 homes on this property, this developer is trying to increase the number of extra homes to over 60. In this quiet semi-rural neighbourhood, this additional traffic will completely change the environment. Our little street will become a throughway. PLEASE do not become swayed by additional taxes.

We were concerned about having 10 homes on that property, certainly not what is proposed or likely reduced to. Original approved subdivision for 10 homes ONLY.
