According to TPA's website, ACTIVE MEMBERSHIP is extended to newspapers that maintain a Periodicals-Class mailing permit from the US Postal
Service AND meet the following requirements: publish news of general interest, publish at least weekly, publish in Texas
and maintain a paid-circulation.
PARTICIPATING MEMBERSHIP is extended to newspapers that maintain a Periodicals-Class mailing permit from the US Postal Service AND meet any three of the four following requirements: publish news of general interest, publish at least weekly, publish in Texas and maintain a paid-circulation.
IonMesquite.com DOES publish news of general interest, publish at least weekly and publish in Texas and IonMesquite.com serves our community like no other media. What IonMesquite.com DOESN'T DO is hold a Periodicals-Class mailing permit simply because we deliver the news to our readers in a much-more expedient and environmentally friendly manner – the Internet – nor do we require a paid subscription.
The Texas Press Association should recognize that technology evolves and proudly welcome IonMesquite.com as a FULL ACTIVE MEMBER.

I would actually take this further, and say amend your requirements to granting membership to any journalistic entity meeting the other requirements, but operating online only. In this day and age, the TPA needs to catch up to technology, and acknowledge such online newspapers as not only members, but members who often get the news out more quickly, and with less impact on precious resources.
IonMesquite is reliable source for newsworthy events in Mesquite. It's coverage of sporting events is outstanding. Recognize digital news media!
Print media is fading. It is time to embrace the wave of the future and include digital media. As a person who lives in a very small town with no print media digital media is the only way we get our news (besides Facebook which is hardly a reliable source). Please consider adding IonMesquite.
ION Mesquite should be a member of the Texas Press Association!! The extensive knowledge and coverage of Mesquite, in all areas of our city's news, is unparalleled. The level of professionalism brought by Kent Miller is not only well respected by Mesquite leadership, but also unparalleled. There is not another Mesquite, Texas news outlet covering our news, for OUR city, more deserving of membership than ION Mesquite.
Kent Miller and IONMESQUITE are worth of inclusion in EVERY media fraternity. His coverage of local news and human interest stories harken back to a better time, when community had a much more wholesome definition. There is not a single city or town that would not appreciate the honesty and earnestness of a media outlet such as IONMESQUITE

ION Mesquite is how I get timely and factual news about Mesquite. Many relatives that have moved out of state also enjoy. Keeps them in touch with community, family and friends. It is new journalism.
