I preferred DLP program in Tamil schools as Teaching of Maths and Science in English language would not kill our mother tongue since it is pivotal to train our children to enhance international communication language for the purpose of survival. And it is not aimed to neglect our mother tongue fully as we teachers are one of the main stakeholders that fused in the systems for a long time and why not we embrace this movement to gauge students ability to think out of box. Just my two cents

You're right Prasath Kumar. Those against this programme:
1. They don't even aware period their kids spend to learn mother tongue and English language & other subjects.
2. For some party it's a political agenda/ milestone.
3. Few think they are protecting mother tongue.
4. Few scared the percentage will drop and parents will blame teachers instead the system.
5. Public / third party. Some gv ridiculous numbers such as over 50k etc Indian trained teacher nvr get posted and will get affected by this programme. I asked the person either he aware how many teacher training colleges 'Maktab' are operating in our country? He don't know. Just simply follow majority without doing any research and feel insecure.
6. We still believe our English level is better than others. Myth.
7. When PPSMI introduced few years ago our kids in school English pro efficiency increase. This not only data on paper alone but peoples who directly involved such as teachers.
8. I still don't know how mother tongue get effected if Maths & Science teach in English.
9. There are peoples talking about below average students. Below average students who fail in own mother tongue language subjects, will you think if they fail in others subjects is new??? This is totally ridiculous.
10. B4 bashing or take it in fanatics way please do small research. Forget about average students. They are already good and successful in life the gv interview. Go and hv a talk with our school dropouts and less succeful there will be place you will meet language factor drive to less interest in subjects so and so. Who is going to pamper the kids after primary level if they themselves are not prepared enough? Please together help below average and average students prepare for global market. Our vision must beyond.
11. In meantime to secure this policy sustain in future Science and Maths in English also must in Secondary level. A good policy must hv realistic timeline and clear route.
12. Instead against the polic
