Definitely this roadblock as well as all the rest of them serves only the Turkish occupation and the Turks interests but not the Greeks!

Why does the Cypriot government want to support the Turkish squatters in the occupied area no give back Famagusta and then open a crossing

M

Cyprus is one so any crossing checkpoints are illegal

If we do not get our town back we should not agree to the opening of the Deryneia pass. How will that benefit us? It will bring us tourism from the Occupied part area. We must be fools to thing that it will benefit us in any way.

This would be another step towards the acceptance and ultimate legitimisation of the illegal occupation! The border should remain firmly closed until a full and acceptable resolution to the occupation!

Openning more access points to the occupied area it does not help our cause. On the contrary, we legitimise the occupation by accepting it. People will be more tempted to go across and spend more money (the biggest shame...really). They are not our 'friends'. Never have been and will never be. Not because we are racists but because they are uncivilised barbarians.

Any return to how things used to be, that would mean a return to a united Cyprus for Greek Cypriots and Turkish Cypriots.
