Say No To Yet Another Alberta Alcohol Tax Hike

The government of Alberta is proposing another greedy tax grab of up to 10% on Alcohol in the coming months. Adding up to $2.85 on liquor and $1.30 on beer. Since 2009 the government of Alberta has repeatedly added more and more taxes to alcohol changing Alberta from the once cheapest place for a beer in 2009 to the now most expensive in Canada (and that is before this additional tax is added on). A survey of beer prices from St. John's, N.L., to Victoria shows Albertans are paying as much as $5 more a case for the same brew. The price of Alberta beer is now higher than in any province, a complete reversal from April 2008, when this province boasted the lowest average price in Canada for a 12-pack, at $18.42. Alison Redford is calling us sinners for drinking alcohol and promising to tax us all heavily with her sinners tax.
